Not sure why the community still runs crews involving 7/8/9. Maybe they're superior at low research or against the lower level probes. Once you're at ops 34+, have a decently tiered Vidar, and are regularly hunting level 33 probes (and filling up your cargo hold each run), the optimal crew reduces to what I listed above.Now you can start forming the best crew. PMC crew works well. For bio shops snw Spock, gorkon and Kahn with bellona and nelix below deck. Janeway/Neelix/5of11 with the Doctor & Hugh below decks for summoned 8472's.
