I've handles a 590A1 and it's heavier than my 870 Wingmaster. Edit: I just checked Mossberg's website and the weight numbers are very close. In fact some 590A1s are lighter than some 590s. Also the 590s only come in 20" but the 590A1s come in 18.5" or 20".

I think they're better built than either the Remington or Mossberg. There are better stock options (pistol grip or ComforTech) on the SuperNova than the Nova (where the receiver and stock are one piece). You should be able to find a SuperNova for roughly $450.
